crowdDJ Scan To Play lets users easily view or add brand-safe songs to your playlist by simply scanning a QR code — no app download required.

How it Works

Users scan the QR code

From their own devices, your customers, guests or members can easily launch a web version of the crowdDJ app by scanning a Scan To Play QR code. These can be displayed on screens, posters, discs and more.

Users can browse or request tracks

Using crowdDJ Scan To Play, users can see what’s currently playing, explore the playlist and even add brand-safe songs to the queue (where permitted).

• crowdDJ requests can be turned ON or OFF using Manage My Nightlife
  • If requests are turned OFF, users will only be able to browse the playlist
• All selections are from your brand-safe library

Staff and managers can manage the requests

Using crowdDJ Control or Manage My Nightlife, staff and managers can see, monitor and manage Scan To Play requests, including rearranging the order or removing songs that don’t suit the energy or atmosphere.

Setting Up Scan to Play

1. Ensure crowdDJ is active in your space. If not, contact us.
2. Display your unique Scan To Play QR code in your space

Options for Displaying Scan To Play QR Codes

Display the Scan To Play QR code slide on your screens (if applicable)

• Open Manage My Nightlife in a browser
• Navigate to the Digital Signage tab
• Select the Scan To Play slide URL from the list (http://localhost:9090/da/qrslidetoken/stp)
• Use the controls to set how often you want the slide to show, then click Save

Place Scan To Play discs across your space (if applicable)

• A pack of Scan To Play discs can be supplied upon request, and where applicable
• These have a removable adhesive backing for easy, permanent placement where needed
• Use the Disc Placement Guide for Businesses or Disc Placement Guide for Fitness Spaces for tips on where to most effectively place your discs

Generate your unique Scan To Play QR code to add to self-made materials

• Open Manage My Nightlife in a browser
• Navigate to the Controls tab
• Under the QR Codes for Apps section, select the crowdDJ Guest option
• Click the Download button to download the Guest QR code to use on self-made materials
