Media Player Direct Connection

Direct Connection, also known as Wi-Fi Direct, allows two Wi-Fi devices to connect without a central router. It’s an alternative way for Nightlife’s apps and devices to control the Media Player. By connecting to the hosted network (hotspot) generated by the Media Player, you can establish full control without needing internet access.

Direct Connection can also be used for troubleshooting — for example, if your device can’t connect or keeps reconnecting to the Media Player.

Direct connection is not available on all Nightlife Media Players. If you encounter issues with the steps below, please contact our team.

Troubleshooting

If using direct connection as a troubleshooting option, start by following the steps of this article to confirm the issue. These steps might resolve the issue without the need for a direct connection.

If the error continues, a direct connection is required for music management. Follow the steps below to establish a direct connection.

Preparing for Direct Connection

1. Ensure your personal device (phone or tablet) is connected to the internet
2. Download the Manage My Nightlife app
3. Sign in with your Manage My Nightlife credentials

If the media player is online and operating normally, you will need to manually activate the hosted network (hostpot) using the Wi-Fi Direct toggle.

If the system is offline or you are troubleshooting due to internet connection issues, the Wi-Fi Direct toggle will automatically be set to ON. Please proceed to How to Directly Connect.

1. Open Manage My Nightlife and activate the Media Player’s hosted network (hotspot):
   
   • Connect to your music zone
   • From the Menu, tap Settings
   • Switch the Wi-Fi Direct toggle to ON

How to Directly Connect

1. Check that the Media Player’s Wi-Fi antennas are properly connected to ensure a strong signal.
2. Ensure Mobile Data in your device settings is turned off.
3. From your device’s Wi-Fi settings, connect to the Media Player’s hosted network (hotspot) by selecting the SSID and entering the password: 123456789
   
   • The SSID is the same as the Media Player’s serial number (NMSXXXX). This is located on the top of the device.
4. Once connected, re-open the Manage My Nightlife app and connect to your music zone.
5. If the music zone does not appear immediately:
   
   • Tap the refresh button, or
   • Try closing and re-opening the app

Once connected to the music zone, full functionality of the Media Player will be restored, including queuing lists, finding songs and powering on/off.
